December is the most important month of giving for Care for Life. A large share of annual charitable gifts arrives in these last weeks, because donors know their generosity matters most when organizations are preparing for the year ahead. For Care for Life, this period determines how many families we can welcome into the 8 Steps to Self-Reliance in 2026.
This year, we are aiming higher than ever. With your support, we want to reach 500 families, families who are ready to grow their own nutritious food, keep their children in school, strengthen their health, and build a more stable future.
Because of a generous match partner who wishes to remain anonymous, every gift you make in December will be doubled through the Give Hope 2X Match. Your 50 dollars becomes 100. Your 100 becomes 200. In the final hours of December 31, that match will increase to 3X, giving families one last surge of hope.
Here are three meaningful ways you can create lasting change before the year ends.
First, make a year-end gift that is matched dollar for dollar. When you donate during the Give Hope 2X Match, your gift goes twice as far in helping families move through the 36-month journey to self-reliance. Your support makes it possible for families to grow their own nutritious food and feed their children every day, improve health and hygiene practices that keep households well, save money through community savings groups, stabilize income, and keep children learning in school. These are real, measurable changes we see daily in the villages we serve, and they are made possible because people like you choose to give.
Second, give through your Donor-Advised Fund or stock. Many supporters prefer to make a deeper year-end impact through their DAF or by contributing stock. Both options offer tax benefits and provide stable resources that allow us to plan for the year ahead. A DAF gift supports long-term programming, consistent family enrollment, and the ability to expand to more communities. A stock gift can be especially powerful in a matched season. When a single stock gift is doubled through the 2X match, it can support dozens of families entering the program.
Third, make a tribute gift in honor or memory of someone you love. A tribute gift is a meaningful way to celebrate someone who embodies compassion, hope, or resilience. When you give in their honor, your gift is doubled through the Give Hope Match, and the person you honor becomes part of a family’s journey to self-reliance. Your tribute supports a mother planting her first thriving garden, a father joining a savings group, a child walking confidently into school each morning. These moments become a powerful legacy.
As we approach midnight on December 31, our Give Hope Match Partner will increase the match from 2X to 3X, turning your final gift of the year into something extraordinary.
