1 in 10 people worldwide live in extreme poverty, surviving on less than $2.15 per day. For families in Mozambique, that means daily choices between feeding their children, sending them to school, or keeping them safe at home — choices no parent should have to make.

The Permanent Problem:
Traditional aid and one-time gifts may help families survive short-term crises, but they rarely offer a permanent solution. Families need skills, not just supplies, to break free from poverty for good.

The Proven Solution:
Care for Life’s Family Preservation Program (FPP) is a comprehensive, 36-month, step-by-step model teaching families critical life skills in eight key development areas:

  • Education
  • Food Security & Nutrition
  • Income Generation
  • Psycho-Social Well-Being
  • Sanitation & Home Improvement
  • Health & Hygiene
  • Children & Elderly Care
  • Community Development

Through these eight areas, families learn how to earn income, build safe homes, access clean water, improve health, and create a better future for their children.

Why Monthly Giving Matters:
Your monthly gift fuels every stage of this transformation. While one-time gifts are important, monthly giving provides the stability needed to teach life skills over time, measure results, and ensure families remain self-reliant after the program ends.

Real Results:
Our data shows families in FPP villages experience:

  • Up to 78% decrease in maternal mortality
  • Up to 57% decrease in infant mortality
  • Long-term income improvements continuing years after we leave

A Success Story:
When a major cyclone struck Mozambique years after Care for Life left one village, resident J. Cumbe shared:

“I received a family in my home who lost theirs in the storm. I took them in until they could build a new shelter. Solidarity is our motto because of the teachings Care for Life gave us. We know we can overcome challenges because we’ve done it before.”

This is village self-reliance in action — and it’s only possible with consistent, sustained support.

Your Opportunity to Double Your Impact:
Today, you can start your monthly gift and have your first month’s donation doubled by a generous donor — up to $20,000 total. Every monthly gift started by August 19, World Humanitarian Day, will also enter you to win a rare opportunity to travel to Mozambique and see this life-changing work firsthand. Eligible for any Care for Life Expedition from July 2025-August 2026.

Permanent solutions take permanent partners. Will you become one today?
